Preached Retreat
July 16 - 20, 2023
Do you feel that God is near you? Or do you perhaps feel that God is far away, and too busy to take an interest in your life here? In both these scenarios, one needs discernment in order to improve one’s walk with the Lord and the Gospel message. This retreat will explore different ways in which we can seek and find God “in all things” while asking for the grace needed to make Christ the center of our busy, often stressful, daily lives.
Fr. Peter Joseph Murray, SJ –ordained in 1972–has been interested in the Ignatian Spiritual exercises from a very young age. In addition, Father Peter has embraced several apostolic missions including 17 years of Hospital ministry, and teaching also, in his many years of Priestly life and work. Above all, he has encountered great riches in those Exercises above mentioned; and has been assigned to offer these in two different parishes, and recently completed a nine-month stay at a Jesuit retreat center, in Faulkner Maryland. There he worked on a team offering various retreats in the Ignatian tradition. Peter has also been interested in working on poetry retreats, during the last two decades. He now resides here in Syracuse, at Le Moyne Jesuit community.
